Israeli attacks in the Gaza Strip killed at least six Palestinians and wounded more than 20 others on Monday, according to medical sources cited by Al Jazeera. The reported deaths add to a rising toll in Gaza despite a United States-brokered ceasefire agreed by Israel and Hamas last October.
Al Jazeera reported that the strikes hit several locations in Gaza, including Khan Younis, al-Mawasi and Gaza City. Medical sources put the number of wounded from the attacks at at least 22.
Strikes reported in southern Gaza and Gaza City
In southern Gaza, at least two people were killed when an Israeli drone struck a vehicle on al-Rashid Street in Khan Younis, according to Al Jazeera. Separately, two Palestinians were killed in an attack on a tent housing displaced people in al-Mawasi, near Khan Younis, the outlet reported.
A married couple were killed in another Israeli drone attack, this one on an apartment in Gaza City, according to a source at al-Shifa Hospital cited by Al Jazeera. Reuters photographed mourners carrying the body of a Palestinian killed in an attack on an apartment in Gaza City on July 6.
The Union of Fishermen’s Committees also said three Palestinian fishermen were wounded by Israeli drone fire off the coast of Gaza City, Al Jazeera reported. That incident was separate from the attacks that medical sources said killed at least six people.
Ceasefire under strain
Israel and Hamas agreed to a US-brokered ceasefire in October 2025, according to Al Jazeera. The outlet reported that while large-scale fighting has mostly paused, Israeli attacks on Palestinians in Gaza have continued.
The Ministry of Health in Gaza said Israeli army violations of the ceasefire have killed at least 1,072 people and wounded 3,463 others since the truce began, according to Al Jazeera. The ministry’s figures could not be independently verified in the report.
The Gaza health ministry also said the latest casualties raised the overall toll in Israel’s war on Gaza since October 2023 to at least 73,098 people killed and 173,571 injured, Al Jazeera reported. The ministry did not separate combatants and civilians in the figures cited by the outlet.
Al Jazeera said the latest deaths occurred months after the ceasefire was declared and amid continued reports of Israeli operations in the territory. No Israeli military statement on Monday’s reported attacks was included in the report.
