YouTube Premium Peacock access is being added to Google’s paid video subscription next year, giving members another streaming service inside the YouTube app. NBCUniversal said Monday that a multi-year agreement with YouTube will let Premium subscribers watch Peacock’s ad-supported TV shows, films and live sports without leaving YouTube.
The bundle will be part of the standard YouTube Premium plan, YouTube spokesperson Jessica Gibby told The Verge. That plan rose to $15.99 a month in April, while Peacock’s ad-supported plan currently starts at $10.99 a month.
The companies did not give a specific launch date beyond next year in the details reported. They also did not list the full Peacock catalog that will be available through YouTube Premium.
What does Peacock in YouTube Premium include?
NBCUniversal said the arrangement covers Peacock’s ad-supported shows, movies and live sports through the YouTube app. The deal means YouTube Premium members will be able to stream that Peacock content as a bundled benefit rather than opening a separate Peacock app for access.
YouTube Premium is Google’s paid tier for ad-free YouTube viewing and other benefits. Peacock is NBCUniversal’s streaming service, carrying entertainment programming and sports tied to the company’s media business.
Why NBCUniversal is making the deal
NBCUniversal framed the agreement as a way to put Peacock in front of a larger paid audience. Matt Strauss, chairman of NBCUniversal’s media group, said in the company’s announcement that the partnership would support Peacock’s next stage of growth by bringing the service to millions of YouTube Premium subscribers.
The timing is notable for Peacock because NBCUniversal, Sky and Peacock are separating from Comcast’s broadband business, according to the companies’ previously announced corporate split. Peacock is also coming off a stronger quarter: Comcast’s most recent earnings report said the streaming service has 48 million subscribers in the United States and reported its first quarterly profit.
YouTube, meanwhile, has a large paid base to bring to the partnership. The company said in 2025 that YouTube Premium and YouTube Music together had 125 million subscribers.
The agreement also covers sports and YouTube TV
The Peacock bundle is one part of a wider NBCUniversal-YouTube agreement. NBCUniversal said it will also stream a selection of live sporting events on YouTube under the deal.
The companies are also extending NBCUniversal’s distribution agreement with YouTube TV. That keeps the relationship active beyond the Peacock bundle and ties NBCUniversal’s channels and streaming strategy more closely to YouTube’s subscription products.
For subscribers, the immediate takeaway is price and convenience. If the plan launches as described, YouTube Premium members will get ad-supported Peacock programming within the YouTube app as part of a subscription they already pay for, while Peacock gains access to YouTube’s paid audience.
