Weber has lowered prices on a range of outdoor cooking gear ahead of the July 4 holiday, The Verge reported. The discounts cover gas grills, griddles, a pellet grill and accessories, giving shoppers several options before a weekend when backyard cooking tends to pick up.
The Verge said Weber’s own prices are about $50 lower than competing retailers on many of the listed picks, though some local hardware chains have matched certain deals. The report cited Home Depot and Ace Hardware as places where comparable pricing may be available on select models.
Gas grill deal
The Weber Spirit E-325 is one of the main discounted models, according to The Verge. The propane version is listed at $499, down from $549, while the natural gas version is $549, down from $599.
The Verge described the Spirit E-325 as a three-burner grill suited to occasional backyard cookouts. The model has 360 square inches of primary cooking space and a 90-square-inch warming rack, according to the report.
The Verge said the E-325 also includes two higher-heat searing zones for finishing steaks. The report noted that Weber also sells a more basic Spirit E-310 model for $449.
Griddles on sale
The Weber Slate 30-inch rust-resistant griddle is $649 after a $50 discount, The Verge reported. The report said that price is $50 below Home Depot’s listing for the same model.
According to The Verge, the 30-inch Slate can reach 500 degrees Fahrenheit and heat up within minutes. The griddle includes wind guards, and Weber says the 30-inch surface can handle about 22 burgers at once, while the 36-inch version can cook about 30.
The Verge said the discount applies to the propane version of the 30-inch griddle. Buyers using a natural gas connection would need to consider a different size, according to the report.
A smaller Weber Slate 17-inch tabletop griddle is also $50 off at $249, The Verge reported. The portable model uses the same rust-resistant carbon-steel cooking surface as Weber’s larger Slate griddles, according to the report.
The Verge said the tabletop model can reach 500 degrees Fahrenheit using a disposable propane cylinder, which is not included. It also has adjustable feet, and the report said the same deal was spotted at Home Depot and Ace Hardware.
Pellet grill option
Weber’s Searwood XL 600 pellet grill is discounted by $100 to $1,199, according to The Verge. The grill can smoke food at temperatures as low as 180 degrees Fahrenheit or sear at up to 600 degrees, the report said.
The Searwood XL 600 has 972 square inches of cooking space, and Weber estimates it can fit 20 burgers when both cooking layers are used, according to The Verge. The report also said the smaller Searwood 600 is discounted, with a $200 price difference between the two models.
