Sony releases final trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day
The Tom Holland sequel, directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, is due in theaters in two weeks as a follow-up to No Way Home.

Sony Pictures has released a final trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day, the next Tom Holland-led Spider-Man film, ahead of its theatrical debut in two weeks, Ars Technica reported. The release gives Marvel and Sony another major summer entry as The Odyssey continues to draw moviegoers, according to Ars Technica.
The film follows 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home and is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, whose credits include Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Ars Technica reported. The outlet also reported that the movie is said to be designed as the start of a new trilogy with Holland returning as Peter Parker.
The story picks up after the ending of No Way Home, in which Peter asked Doctor Strange to remove him from the memories of everyone who knew him in order to protect the multiverse, including MJ, played by Zendaya, according to Ars Technica.
According to the official synopsis cited by Ars Technica, Peter is now fighting crime full-time as Spider-Man in a world where people no longer remember him. The synopsis says the strain of watching his former friends build lives without him leads to a change Peter may be unable to control.
The same synopsis says that shift could help him confront a new danger to New York City and to the people he cares about. It describes the threat as a powerful villain who cannot be seen, while stressing that Peter has not forgotten the people who forgot him.
Returning cast and new additions
Holland returns as Peter Parker and Spider-Man, with Zendaya back as MJ and Jacob Batalon returning as Ned Leeds, Peter’s former best friend, Ars Technica reported. The cast also includes Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle, also known as the Punisher, and Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner, also known as the Hulk.
Ars Technica reported that Michael Mando appears as Mac Gargan, also known as Scorpion, a character Spider-Man captured in Homecoming. Marvin Jones III plays Lonnie Lincoln, also known as Tombstone, described by Ars Technica as an albino crime lord.
Charlie Cox is also listed in the cast as Matt Murdock, also known as Daredevil, after the character briefly served as Peter’s lawyer in No Way Home, according to Ars Technica. Other cast members reported by the outlet include Liza Colon-Zayas as detective Jean DeWolf, Eman Esfandi as MJ’s new boyfriend and Trammell Tillman as Bill Metzger of the Department of Damage Control, which is policing superpowered individuals.
