Neuromancer Apple TV teaser debuts at San Diego Comic-Con
Apple TV+ showed the first teaser for Neuromancer at SDCC and set a Jan. 22, 2027 premiere for the Gibson adaptation.

Apple TV+ unveiled the first Neuromancer Apple TV teaser during San Diego Comic-Con, giving viewers an initial look at its adaptation of William Gibson’s 1984 cyberpunk novel. Ars Technica reported that the preview ran about a minute and arrived as Apple continues to build out a science-fiction slate that includes Foundation, For All Mankind, Silo and Severance.
The series is based on Gibson’s influential novel about hackers, corporate power and digital espionage. According to the official description cited by Ars Technica, the show follows Case, a damaged elite hacker, and Molly, an assassin with mirrored eyes, as they become involved in a heist targeting a secretive corporate dynasty.
When does Neuromancer premiere on Apple TV+?
Neuromancer is scheduled to premiere Jan. 22, 2027, on Apple TV+, according to Ars Technica. The SDCC teaser is the first public footage reported for the series.
Callum Taylor, known for playing Theseus Scamander in the Fantastic Beasts films, stars as Case. Briana Middleton, whose credits include The Inheritance, plays Molly.
The cast also includes Mark Strong as Armitage, Joseph Lee as Hideo, Clemence Poesy as Marie-France Tessier, Peter Sarsgaard as John Ashpool, Emma Laird as Linda Lee, Max Irons as Jean Tessier-Ashpool, Dane DeHaan as Peter Riviera, Marc Menchaca as Dixie Flatline, Andre de Shields as Julius Deane and Isabella Pappas as Mitchell, according to Ars Technica.
What else was shown at SDCC?
Apple TV+ also released the official trailer for the second season of Dark Matter, Ars Technica reported. The new season begins after Jason Dessen, played by Joel Edgerton, and his family reach what appeared to be safety in “World 26,” but the trailer indicates that the family’s new life is again in danger.
Season 2 of Dark Matter is set to premiere Aug. 28, 2026, on Apple TV+. The official premise says Jason’s fixation on the Box grows while Daniela’s fear increases, and Amanda and Ryan try to find a way home as Leighton pursues his plan to create a perfect world.
Apple also showed a trailer for Matchbox: The Movie, an action comedy inspired by Mattel’s toy cars. John Cena stars as Sean Walker, a former soldier turned spy who reunites with childhood friends before the group is drawn into a plot involving a nuclear warhead. The film is scheduled to premiere Oct. 9, 2026, on Apple TV, according to Ars Technica.
Prime Video used SDCC to show a teaser for Mike Flanagan’s six-episode Carrie miniseries. Ars Technica reported that all six episodes are set to premiere Oct. 7, 2026, on Prime Video.
Marvel also brought casting news to the convention. According to reports cited by Ars Technica, Kevin Feige announced Ryan Gosling will star in a new Ghost Rider movie planned for 2028, and director Ryan Coogler said David Jonsson has been cast in Black Panther III as Toussaint/T’Challa II.
