Preorders for Grand Theft Auto VI are straightforward because retailers are not offering separate store-exclusive bonuses, according to The Verge. That means buyers can choose a digital storefront or a code-in-box retailer without losing access to the listed preorder items.

The Verge reports that Rockstar’s next Grand Theft Auto entry is scheduled to launch Nov. 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S/X. The game will be sold digitally at launch, and The Verge says boxed retail copies contain download codes rather than discs.

Players will be able to preload the game starting Nov. 12, according to The Verge. The Standard Edition costs $79.99, while the Ultimate Edition is listed at $99.99.

Where the editions are available

The Standard Edition is available as a digital preorder through PlayStation and Xbox, The Verge reports. It is also being sold as a code-in-box purchase through Rockstar and major retailers including Amazon, Walmart and Best Buy.

The Ultimate Edition is digital-only and is available through the PlayStation and Xbox stores, according to The Verge. The higher-priced version includes additional content that The Verge says is not included with the Standard Edition.

What comes with a preorder

Both editions include the same preorder bonuses, according to The Verge. Buyers get the Vintage Vice City Pack when the game launches, a set of in-game items that includes vehicles, weapon patterns and hairstyles tied to Grand Theft Auto: Vice City.

Digital preorders also include one month of GTA Plus that can be redeemed immediately, according to a Rockstar support page cited by The Verge. Rockstar describes GTA Plus as a membership for Grand Theft Auto V’s online mode, with in-game benefits and access to a rotating selection of older Rockstar games; The Verge reports that the subscription normally costs $7.99 per month.

Ultimate Edition extras

The Verge says the Ultimate Edition adds vehicles, weapon options, outfits, customization features, shops and cosmetic services that are not otherwise available in the game. The listed extras include:

  • Vehicle: ’95 Grotti Cheetah
  • Weapons: Hawk and Little Morgan Revolvers
  • Weapons: Personalized Weapon Variants
  • Looks: Vice City Style
  • Vehicle: Jason’s Safehouse Vehicles
  • Modkit: Ganado Retro Build
  • Mod Shop: Rideout Customs
  • Hair Salon: Sara’s Unisex Salon
  • Watercraft: Shitzu Squalo
  • Clothing Store: Stock 305
  • Vehicle and Garage: ’67 Vapid Dominator Buggy
  • Tattoo Shop: Electric Fang Tattoo
  • Mod Shop: One-Eyed Willie’s
  • Looks: Goodtime Gear
  • Gang Compound: PTT Youngin$ Illegal Good Store
  • Special Commission: Classic Car Collection

For buyers deciding between retailers, The Verge’s central takeaway is that the preorder content does not change by store. The bigger choice is between the $79.99 Standard Edition and the $99.99 digital-only Ultimate Edition.
