Google’s TV Streamer 4K is selling for $74.99 at Amazon for Prime members during Prime Day, according to The Verge. The discount takes $25 off the device’s listed $100 price and matches the lowest price The Verge has tracked for it.

The sale matters for shoppers who want more than a basic streaming stick. The Verge reports that Google’s device also works as a Matter-compatible smart home hub, letting users control supported connected-home devices from a TV.

For shoppers without Amazon Prime, The Verge says the same streamer is available for $80 at Best Buy and directly from Google. That puts those listings $5 above Amazon’s Prime-only price.

What the Google streamer does

The Google TV Streamer 4K is aimed at viewers already using Google’s services, according to The Verge. It supports voice control through Gemini and uses the Google TV interface to collect recommendations from across streaming apps.

The Verge says the interface can also show Rotten Tomatoes scores, which may help viewers compare movies and shows without opening separate apps. During setup, The Verge reports, Google asks which streaming services the user subscribes to and then installs the related apps automatically.

In The Verge’s testing, setup took about 10 minutes. That quick start and app-install step were presented as conveniences for users who do not want to download each streaming app one at a time.

Smart home features

The Verge reports that the device can act as a hub for Matter-compatible smart home gear. From the TV, users can view a front door camera when a doorbell rings, turn lights off, adjust compatible thermostats and manage other supported devices.

Google has also included a remote-finder feature and an ethernet port, according to The Verge. The ethernet connection gives users an option for a wired network connection instead of relying only on Wi-Fi.

The Prime Day offer is part of a broader set of tech discounts tracked by The Verge for Amazon’s 2026 sale. The Google TV Streamer 4K deal is one of the streaming-device offers highlighted because it combines a price cut with smart home functions that go beyond video playback.
