Google will hold its next Made by Google launch event on August 12 in New York City, according to an invitation the company sent to The Verge. The event is expected to focus on Pixel hardware, setting the stage for Google’s next phone lineup.
The Verge reported that the event is scheduled for 6 p.m. ET, an evening start time the publication described as unusual for Google’s hardware launches. Google’s invitation did not lay out a product list, but it included a short animation that The Verge said appears to show a gold phone from the Pixel 11 family.
The announcement gives Google a mid-August slot for its next hardware reveal, slightly earlier than last year’s Pixel 10 event. The Verge reported that Google held that launch on August 20, with the base Pixel 10 and Pixel 10 Pro models arriving soon afterward on August 28.
What leaks have suggested
Details about the Pixel 11 lineup remain unofficial. The Verge reported that prior leaks of the base Pixel 11 suggest it could have narrower bezels than the Pixel 10, along with a solid black camera bar.
Android Headlines has reported that the Pixel 11 Pro could be slightly thinner than the Pixel 10 Pro. The Verge also cited leaked renders suggesting the Pixel 11 Pro Fold could be thinner than its predecessor and may use a revised camera bump.
Those leaked design details have not been confirmed by Google. The invitation points only to a Pixel hardware launch event and the brief gold-phone teaser described by The Verge.
What happened last year
Google’s previous Pixel event took a more entertainment-driven approach. The Verge reported that the Pixel 10 launch featured Jimmy Fallon and a live studio audience.
Google has not said whether this year’s event will use a similar format. The company’s confirmed details, as reported by The Verge, are the August 12 date, New York City location and 6 p.m. ET start time.
The event will be the next official venue for Google to show how much of the Pixel 11 leaks line up with its final hardware plans. Until then, the clearest signal from Google is that its next Pixel devices are coming in August.
