New images attributed to leaker Evan Blass show what appears to be Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 8 with a shorter and wider body, according to The Verge. The leak matters because Samsung is expected to unveil its next foldables at a July 22 launch event, leaving little time before the company’s official reveal.
The Verge reported that Blass shared images of the redesigned Galaxy Z Fold 8, along with alleged specifications. The images show a device that matches earlier leaks pointing to a broader foldable format for Samsung’s next book-style phone, according to The Verge.
According to the images cited by The Verge, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 is listed with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite For Galaxy processor. The same materials show rear cameras with a 50-megapixel wide sensor and a 50-megapixel ultrawide sensor, The Verge reported.
The leaked specifications also list 10-megapixel selfie cameras on both the inner and outer screens, according to The Verge. The materials advertise battery life of up to 26 hours of video playback for the Galaxy Z Fold 8, The Verge reported.
Ultra and Flip models also appear
Blass also posted images of the Galaxy Z Flip 8 and sent The Verge images of the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, according to the report. The Verge said those images line up with brief views of both phones that appeared in a Samsung Spider-Man teaser released earlier in the week.
For the Galaxy Z Flip 8, the leaked images list a 4,300mAh battery, The Verge reported. The images also show a 10-megapixel main screen camera and a cover screen camera setup with a 50-megapixel wide camera and a 12-megapixel ultrawide camera, according to The Verge.
The Verge noted that the Galaxy Z Flip 8 camera setup shown in the leak is the same as the current Galaxy Z Flip 7’s camera arrangement. The report did not include pricing or availability details for the Flip model.
The Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra images shared by Blass show a 5,000mAh battery, according to The Verge. The materials advertise up to 27 hours of video playback for that model, The Verge reported.
The same leaked images indicate the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra may use a rear camera system with a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera, a 200-megapixel wide camera and a 10-megapixel telephoto camera, according to The Verge. The images also list 10-megapixel cameras for the cover and main screens, The Verge reported.
Samsung has not announced the phones yet
Samsung is expected to announce the phones at its July 22 event, according to The Verge. Until then, the images and specifications remain unconfirmed by Samsung in the report.
The reported changes would put the standard Galaxy Z Fold 8 on a different physical path from earlier Fold models by emphasizing a wider shape, according to the leaked images described by The Verge. The alleged Ultra model, meanwhile, appears positioned around a larger battery and a higher-resolution main rear camera, based on the same leak.
