Dbrand’s Killswitch 2 Travel bundle for the Nintendo Switch 2 is on sale for $69.99 at Dbrand and $71.99 at Best Buy, down from its usual $80 price, according to The Verge. The discount gives Switch 2 owners a cheaper option for a protective case that The Verge’s Cameron Faulkner said works in both handheld and docked setups.

Faulkner described the Killswitch 2 as the strongest Switch 2 case he has tested, citing its sturdier construction compared with similar models. The case wraps around the back and sides of the console, and it includes Joy-Con covers meant to make the controllers feel larger and more comfortable in the hand, according to The Verge.

The Travel bundle adds a rigid front cover secured with a bungee-style strap, The Verge reported. That cover protects the screen and can store 10 game cartridges, while the bundle also includes thumbstick grips.

The case is designed to preserve the Switch 2’s hybrid use, according to Faulkner. The bundle includes a USB-C dock adapter that lets the console send video to a TV while the case remains attached, though Faulkner said the adapter is a somewhat awkward fit for a clean entertainment-center setup.

Other discounted tech and media

Walmart is selling Acer’s 27-inch Predator X27U QD-OLED gaming monitor for $314.99, reduced from $549.99, according to The Verge. Faulkner reported that the price matches the discount seen during Amazon Prime Day last week.

The monitor has a 2560 x 1440 OLED panel, a 240Hz refresh rate, two DisplayPort 1.4 ports and two HDMI 2.1 ports, according to The Verge. It also includes a height-adjustable stand with swivel and pivot support, built-in speakers and Acer’s three-year warranty covering burn-in under normal use, The Verge reported.

The Verge also flagged a Criterion Collection sale at Barnes & Noble and Amazon. Barnes & Noble lists the sale as running through July 26, with many Criterion films at 50 percent off, according to The Verge.

Under that promotion, 4K Blu-rays are generally priced at $24.99, though box sets and some titles are excluded, The Verge reported. Akira Kurosawa’s Seven Samurai is listed at $29.99, while standard Blu-rays are down to $19.98 with some exclusions, according to The Verge.

Several preorders are also part of the sale, The Verge reported, though the upcoming K-Pop Demon Hunters release due in December is not included. The Verge noted that similar Criterion discounts appear only a few times a year.

Best Buy is also offering a small discount on Instacart gift cards, selling a $50 digital card for $45, according to The Verge. Faulkner reported that Best Buy appears to limit customers to one discounted card per account and advised adding the credit through Instacart before shopping.
