Best Buy has cut the 2025 Asus ROG Flow Z13 gaming tablet to $2,099.99 in a configuration with 64GB of RAM, a 1TB SSD and AMD’s Ryzen AI Max Plus 395 processor. The Verge reports that the model originally sold for $2,999.99, making the current price a $900 reduction.

The discount stands out because The Verge says gaming laptop prices have broadly risen over the past year. Amazon is selling a Flow Z13 model with the same AMD Ryzen AI Max Plus 395 chip and 32GB of RAM for $1,999.99, down from $2,299.99, according to the retailer listing cited by The Verge.

The Flow Z13 is a Windows gaming device built around a 13.4-inch tablet form factor rather than a standard clamshell laptop. The 2025 version uses integrated graphics through AMD’s Strix Halo APU instead of a separate graphics card, which The Verge says gives it battery life and graphics performance comparable to laptops with Nvidia’s RTX 4060.

The device is not aimed at players seeking more than 100 frames per second in every game at its 1600p native resolution, according to The Verge. In The Verge’s review, graphically demanding games generally ran at about 50 to 60 frames per second on low to medium settings, while Elden Ring reached about 50 frames per second at high settings and native resolution.

The Verge also says games with FSR 3 and frame generation support can run at higher frame rates. The publication described the Flow Z13 as a portable alternative to devices such as the Steam Deck OLED, citing its added power and built-in stand.

Asus first released the Flow Z13 line in 2022, when The Verge described it as a Surface-style tablet that could run games. The 2025 model, according to The Verge, delivers the kind of gaming performance the earlier version suggested, while also offering strong general performance and battery life from the Strix Halo processor.

The Verge says the Flow Z13 still trails larger and more expensive 16-inch gaming laptops, including the Razer Blade 16 and Asus Zephyrus G16, in tasks that depend heavily on GPU power. Its appeal is the amount of performance packed into a thinner, more portable design.
