Amazon, Best Buy and B&H Photo are selling the Asus ROG Swift OLED PG32UCDMR gaming monitor for $899.99, down from its usual $1,299.99 price. The discount puts a 32-inch 4K QD-OLED display with gaming-focused specs below the $900 mark at three major retailers.
The model uses a QD-OLED panel, which The Verge says delivers deep black levels and richer color than LCD displays can provide. Retailer listings also show a 240Hz refresh rate and G-Sync variable refresh rate support, features aimed at reducing tearing and keeping motion smooth in fast games.
The Verge reports that the monitor has stayed near this price for most of July, though the end date for the sale is not clear. The site also notes that Asus may be clearing room for a newer $1,299.99 model that uses a Tandem QD-OLED display and has slightly stronger specifications.
Connectivity is one of the PG32UCDMR’s broader selling points. The monitor includes DisplayPort 2.1, two HDMI 2.1 ports and USB-C video over DisplayPort alt mode with up to 90W charging, according to The Verge.
The display also includes a USB 3.2 Gen 1 hub with three Type-A ports. The Verge says this Asus OLED model, along with some others from the company, has a proximity sensor that can shut the monitor off when the user steps away, a feature intended to lower burn-in risk.
Asus backs the monitor with a three-year warranty that covers burn-in under normal use, according to The Verge. Burn-in coverage has become a notable detail for OLED monitor buyers because static interface elements can leave marks on some panels over time.
