Apple’s AirPods Max 2 are selling for $449.99 at Amazon and Best Buy, according to retailer listings cited by The Verge. The $100 discount matters for shoppers who missed the deeper Prime Day cut, because The Verge said this is only the second recorded discount on the headphones.

The current price is higher than the $399.99 Prime Day deal The Verge reported last month, but it applies to every color. Best Buy is also running a weeklong “Black Friday in July” promotion, which The Verge said has brought several electronics deals alongside Amazon’s current pricing.

The second-generation AirPods Max normally list for $549, according to Amazon and Best Buy listings. The headphones can be purchased at Amazon and Best Buy.

The Verge’s review characterized the AirPods Max 2 as a strong follow-up that does not change the formula much. The report said the design is largely familiar, but Apple added internal upgrades that may appeal to owners of the original model, especially those using the earlier Lightning version.

According to The Verge, the AirPods Max 2 include USB-C connectivity, as did Apple’s 2024 revision, along with a built-in amplifier. The headphones also use Apple’s H2 wireless chip, which supports features including live translation, adaptive audio and conversation awareness.

Other tech deals listed this week

The Verge also highlighted the Logitech G Pro X2 Superstrike wireless gaming mouse, now down to $125.99 at Amazon from its regular $179.99 price. The discount is applied at checkout, according to the report.

Logitech’s mouse replaces physical switches beneath the two main buttons with haptic motors that imitate a click, The Verge reported. The company said that design is meant to reduce latency and let users adjust the intensity of each click response.

Apple’s second-generation AirTags are also discounted in a four-pack. The Verge said the bundle is $89.99 at Amazon and Best Buy, down from $99.99, while Costco members can buy a five-pack for $99.99.

The newer AirTags add a louder alarm and longer range, according to The Verge. Its review said those changes can improve the odds of locating misplaced items compared with the first-generation tracker.

Best Buy is also selling Kodak’s Charmera keychain digital camera for $33.49 through the day, down from $49.99, The Verge reported. The camera comes in a blind box, meaning buyers do not know which design they will receive until they open it.
