The discount applies to the configuration with 12GB of RAM, a MediaTek Kompanio Ultra 910 processor and 256GB of UFS storage, and Best Buy lists the offer for the rest of the day.
The price cut matters for buyers who want more memory than the 8GB commonly found in many Chromebooks. The Verge has named the Acer Chromebook Plus Spin 514 among the best Chromebooks available, and its review highlighted performance and battery life as strengths.
Is the Acer Chromebook Plus Spin 514 deal worth it?
The discounted model gives shoppers a higher-memory Chromebook Plus convertible for less than $600, based on Best Buy’s current listing. Chromebook Plus is Google’s higher-spec Chromebook tier, aimed at models with stronger hardware and support for newer Google features than basic Chromebooks.
In an October 2025 review for The Verge, Antonio G. Di Benedetto praised the Spin 514’s Arm-based MediaTek chip and said the laptop delivered battery life beyond a day. He also described the keyboard as tactile and the mechanical trackpad as satisfying.
The Spin 514 can work as a traditional laptop or fold back into tablet mode. The model has a 14-inch 1920 x 1200 IPS touchscreen with a 16:10 aspect ratio and 120Hz refresh rate, according to The Verge.
A stylus is not included with the Spin 514. The Verge said buyers can use any USI 2.0 stylus with the device.
How does it compare with Lenovo’s Chromebook Plus 14?
Best Buy is also selling Lenovo’s Chromebook Plus 14 for $649, down from $999, according to the retailer. The Verge said Di Benedetto preferred that Lenovo model slightly over the Acer.
The Lenovo Chromebook Plus 14 uses the same MediaTek Kompanio Ultra 910 processor and includes the same 256GB storage amount, according to the Best Buy listing cited by The Verge. It adds 16GB of RAM, an OLED display, stronger speakers and fingerprint biometric support.
That makes the Lenovo a higher-priced alternative for buyers who want more memory and display upgrades. The Acer deal is the lower-cost option among the two current Chromebook discounts, based on the prices listed by Best Buy.
