Walmart is selling a one-year Walmart Plus membership for $49, a 50% discount from its usual $98 annual price, The Verge reported. The timing gives shoppers cheaper access to the retailer’s membership perks before Walmart’s June deals event, which is set to overlap with Amazon’s Prime Day 2026.

The membership offer is aimed at shoppers who use Walmart often or want an alternative to Amazon’s paid shopping program, according to The Verge’s Brad Bourque. Walmart Plus includes several retail benefits tied to delivery, online orders and returns.

What the membership includes

According to The Verge, Walmart Plus members receive free delivery on orders of more than $35, along with free next-day and two-day shipping from Walmart.com when those options are available. The plan also includes free home pickup for returns.

Membership also comes with early access to sales, The Verge reported. That includes Walmart Deals, which Walmart has scheduled to begin June 22, according to the retailer’s corporate announcement cited by The Verge.

  • Annual Walmart Plus membership: $49 for one year
  • Regular annual price: $98
  • Free delivery on eligible orders over $35
  • Free next-day and two-day shipping from Walmart.com when available
  • Free pickup from home for returns
  • Early access to Walmart sales events

The promotion places Walmart’s membership program in front of shoppers as major retailers prepare competing summer sales. The Verge reported that Walmart Deals will coincide with Prime Day 2026, Amazon’s annual shopping event for Prime members.

Streaming, fuel and food perks are bundled in

Walmart Plus also includes non-shopping benefits, according to The Verge. Members can choose either an ad-supported Paramount Plus plan or Peacock, with the option to switch between the two every 90 days.

The Verge also reported that the subscription includes a Pawp membership for remote veterinary care. Members can receive fuel discounts at Walmart and Sam’s Club locations, according to the same report.

The membership adds a fast-food perk through Burger King, The Verge reported. Walmart Plus members can get a free Whopper with any purchase once every three months, which works out to as many as four during a yearlong membership.

The Verge noted that the discounted annual plan is available through Walmart. The report did not specify an end date for the $49 offer.
