Prime Day starts with laptop, Kindle and headphone discounts
Amazon’s four-day sale is live for Prime members, with The Verge highlighting markdowns on MacBooks, Kindles, Sony headphones and more.

Amazon’s 2026 Prime Day sale is underway, opening a four-day run of member-only discounts across consumer tech. The Verge reported that the event is scheduled to end at 3:01AM ET, or 12:01AM PT, on June 27, with many prices expected to hold through the sale.
The Verge said its staff selected deals across categories including laptops, ereaders, headphones and earbuds, mixing newer products with older devices that remain strong buys. Vox Media may earn commissions from purchases made through Verge links, according to the publication’s disclosure.
Laptop discounts
Apple’s base 14-inch MacBook Pro with an M5 chip is listed at $1,549 at Amazon and Best Buy, a $150 discount, according to The Verge. The configuration cited by The Verge includes 16GB of RAM, 1TB of storage and multiple ports.
The Verge also highlighted Apple’s 2026 MacBook Air with an M5 chip. The 13-inch model is $950 at Amazon and $949 at Best Buy, while the 15-inch version is $1,150 at Amazon, according to the deal roundup.
For gaming laptops, The Verge pointed to the 2025 Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 at Best Buy for $1,450, down from $2,300. The discounted model includes an AMD Ryzen 9 270 processor, Nvidia RTX 5060 graphics, 16GB of memory and 1TB of storage, according to The Verge.
Kindle and ereader deals
The Verge listed Amazon’s 12th-generation Kindle Paperwhite at $125 with ads, or $145 without ads. The publication described the Paperwhite as waterproof, with a seven-inch display and battery life measured in weeks per charge.
The entry-level 11th-generation Kindle is $82 with ads and $105 without ads, according to The Verge. The publication said that model keeps a six-inch, 300ppi display and USB-C charging, while adding better brightness, improved speed and longer battery life compared with the prior version.
The Verge also noted several color E Ink deals. Amazon’s Kindle Colorsoft Signature Edition Essentials Bundle, which includes the 32GB ereader, a leather cover and wireless charging dock, is $257.97, down from a previous normal price around $354, according to The Verge. The Scribe Colorsoft bundle with a 32GB model, pen, leather folio and power adapter is $549.97, compared with its usual sale price of $729.97, the publication reported.
Headphones and earbuds
Sony’s WH-1000XM6 headphones are selling for $378 at Amazon and Best Buy, with Target listing them at $400, according to The Verge. The Verge said the newer Sony model improves comfort and noise cancellation and can charge while being used.
The prior-generation Sony WH-1000XM5 headphones are $198 at Amazon, which The Verge called that retailer’s best price yet. The set launched at $399.99, according to The Verge.
Apple’s AirPods Max 2 are $399 at Amazon and Walmart, down from $549, The Verge reported. Bose’s second-generation QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds are $249 at Amazon, Walmart and Best Buy, while the second-generation Bose QuietComfort Ultra over-ear headphones are $379 at Amazon, according to the publication.
Google’s Pixel Buds 2a are $99 at Amazon, with Google and Best Buy listing them at $109, according to The Verge. The Verge also flagged JBL’s Tour One M3 Smart Tx over-ear headphones at $249.99 at Amazon, $200 below their original price.
