Google’s Pixel 10A has dropped to $399 for Prime Day at Amazon, a $100 cut from its $499 list price, according to The Verge. The discount matters for buyers considering Google’s lower-cost Pixel because The Verge said this year’s A-series model brought only modest changes while keeping the same starting price as the Pixel 9A.
The Verge reported that the $399 deal applies to the 128GB Pixel 10A at Amazon. The publication also listed the same $399 price for the 128GB model at Best Buy, while the 256GB Pixel 10A was shown at $499 at Amazon.
At full price, The Verge described the Pixel 10A as a less compelling update than Google’s A-series phones often are. The publication said the phone added features such as satellite messaging and updated Gorilla Glass on the display, but otherwise did not move far beyond the Pixel 9A.
What the deal includes
The Verge’s product listing said the Pixel 10A adds faster wired charging, Satellite SOS and AI tools including Camera Coach and Auto Best Take. The same listing said the phone keeps the Tensor G4 chip and a dual-camera system, making it close in hardware to the Pixel 9A.
The Verge also said the Pixel 10A carries Google’s promise of seven years of operating system updates. That long support window is a major part of the value argument for a midrange phone, since buyers can keep receiving software updates well past the usual replacement cycle.
The Prime Day price cuts the 128GB model by 20%, according to the retailer pricing cited by The Verge. For shoppers comparing the 10A with last year’s model, The Verge framed the lower price as the main factor that makes the newer phone more attractive.
Why the discount is smaller this year
The Verge noted that last year’s Pixel 9A was also discounted to $400 during Prime Day. Because the Pixel 10A starts at $499 like the 9A did, this year’s deal lands at nearly the same sale price, though The Verge described the discount as smaller in the context of current phone pricing.
The publication pointed to the memory market as a possible factor, referring to the broader “RAMageddon” shortage that has affected device costs.
