Amazon’s Fire TV Soundbar Plus bundle has fallen to $380 ahead of Prime Day, according to The Verge, cutting $110 from its previous $490 price. The discount matters for shoppers looking beyond a basic soundbar because the package includes rear speakers and a subwoofer in a 5.1-channel setup.
The Verge reported that $380 is the lowest price it has seen for the kit. The system is being sold through Amazon and pairs the main soundbar with a wireless subwoofer and two wireless satellite speakers, according to Amazon’s product listing cited by The Verge.
What the bundle includes
Amazon lists the Fire TV Soundbar Plus package as a surround-sound system rather than a single-bar speaker. The Verge said that gives it a broader home-theater setup than standalone soundbars such as the Sonos Beam.
According to Amazon, the soundbar supports Dolby Atmos and DTS:X audio formats. The Verge noted that the bar does not include upward-firing speakers, a hardware feature that can make spatial audio effects more pronounced.
Amazon says the soundbar hardware includes three full-range speakers, three tweeters, two subwoofers and a center channel intended to improve dialogue clarity. The system also includes optical audio and an HDMI eARC port, which The Verge said can work with compatible televisions for shared controls.
Wireless rear speakers and listening modes
The satellite speakers and subwoofer connect to the soundbar wirelessly, according to The Verge. That separates the bundle from some systems in the same general price range that use wired rear speakers, The Verge reported.
Amazon lists four equalizer presets for the system: movie, music, sports and night mode. The Verge said night mode reduces bass and emphasizes dialogue, a setting aimed at lower-volume viewing.
The system can also be used outside TV playback. Amazon says the Fire TV Soundbar Plus includes Bluetooth, allowing it to play audio from mobile devices as a wireless speaker.
Price and timing
The deal appears as early Prime Day discounts begin to show up across Amazon’s hardware and gadget categories, according to The Verge. The listed drop from $490 to $380 amounts to a 22% discount.
The Verge framed the bundle as an option for buyers who want a fuller sound system without piecing together separate components. Amazon’s listing emphasizes the included subwoofer, rear speakers and surround-format support as the main features of the package.
