The 2026 FIFA World Cup quarterfinal lineup is complete, leaving eight teams in contention after two weeks of eliminations in the expanded 48-team tournament. Al Jazeera reported that 40 nations have now been knocked out as the competition moves into its third knockout round.

The last-eight field brings together Morocco, France, Norway, England, Spain, Belgium, Argentina and Switzerland. According to Al Jazeera, the quarterfinals begin Thursday, July 9, in Boston and continue through Saturday, July 11, with matches in Los Angeles, Miami and Kansas City.

How the teams reached the quarterfinals

Al Jazeera reported that Morocco booked its place by beating Canada 3-0, setting up a meeting with France. France advanced with a 1-0 win over Paraguay.

Norway moved on by defeating Brazil 2-1, while England reached the quarterfinals after a 3-2 victory over Mexico, according to Al Jazeera. Spain eliminated Portugal with a 1-0 win, and Belgium beat the United States 4-1.

Argentina became the seventh team into the quarterfinals after defeating Egypt 3-2, Al Jazeera reported. Switzerland completed the field by beating Colombia 4-3 on penalties.

Quarterfinal schedule

Al Jazeera listed the opening quarterfinal as France against Morocco on Thursday, July 9, at 4 p.m. local time, 20:00 GMT, at Boston Stadium in the United States.

Spain will play Belgium on Friday, July 10, at noon local time, 19:00 GMT, at Los Angeles Stadium, according to Al Jazeera.

The two remaining matches are scheduled for Saturday, July 11. Al Jazeera reported that Norway will face England at 5 p.m. local time, 21:00 GMT, at Miami Stadium, before Argentina plays Switzerland at 8 p.m. local time in Kansas City, which is 01:00 GMT on Sunday.

How to watch in the US and Canada

For viewers in the United States, Al Jazeera reported that Fox and FS1 have English-language television coverage of every match. All 104 games are also available to stream through Fox One and the Fox Sports app.

Al Jazeera said Spanish-language coverage in the US is available on Telemundo and Universo, with streaming on Peacock. Viewers without cable can also use live TV services carrying Fox and FS1, including Fubo, Hulu + Live TV, YouTube TV and DirecTV.

In Canada, Al Jazeera reported that TSN is the main English-language broadcaster, with selected matches also available on CTV. French-language coverage is available on RDS and RDS2.
