US forces carried out a sixth straight night of strikes in Iran, hitting infrastructure sites and causing power disruptions, Iranian officials and media reported. The attacks widened regional tensions as Bahrain activated air raid sirens after Iran’s army claimed it had targeted US aircraft at a base there.

US Central Command said the latest strikes were intended to further weaken Iran’s military capabilities, according to Al Jazeera. The broadcaster reported that Washington and Tehran have exchanged attacks daily for nearly a week, despite a ceasefire agreement signed last month.

Damage reported in southern Iran

Iran’s Energy Ministry said the latest US attacks damaged power lines in Bandar Abbas and nearby villages. The ministry said electricity had been restored in some areas and that the situation was stabilising.

The ministry also said an outage in the Nobonyad 1 area had been resolved. Officials urged residents in southern Iran to limit electricity use during peak demand hours.

Iranian media reported that US forces struck a bridge, a railway station and other locations across the country, killing at least two people and wounding several others. Iran’s Health Ministry said recent attacks have killed at least 40 people and injured more than 300, according to Al Jazeera.

Tehran also said a US attack forced about 200 cancer patients to leave a hospital in southwestern Iran, according to Al Jazeera. Iranian officials described that strike as “barbaric.”

Bahrain tells residents to seek safety

Bahrain’s Interior Ministry told people to remain calm and go to the nearest safe place after air raid sirens were activated. The warning followed a claim by Iran’s army, carried by the semi-official Tasnim news agency, that it had targeted US helicopters and reconnaissance aircraft at Sakhir airbase in Bahrain.

No casualty figures or damage reports from Bahrain were provided in the updates. The claim points to the risk that the Iran-US conflict could draw in more sites across the Gulf.

An Iranian military spokesman said the Strait of Hormuz would “never return to what it was before the 40-day war,” according to Al Jazeera. The waterway is a key route in the Gulf, though no further details on possible action there were reported.

Other fronts remain active

Al Jazeera also reported that US Vice President JD Vance accused Israel of funding campaigns aimed at undermining US negotiations with Iran to end the war. No further details of the accusation were included.

In Gaza, Israeli forces killed at least five Palestinians while continuing daily attacks despite a ceasefire, according to Al Jazeera. The broadcaster also showed smoke rising from the site of an Israeli air strike on Nabatieh al-Fawqa in southern Lebanon on Thursday, in a photograph credited to AFP.
