The lowest listed ticket price for the United States’ World Cup round-of-16 match against Belgium in Seattle fell sharply this week, according to Reuters. TicketData.com figures cited by Reuters showed the get-in price dropped 32% over three days before recovering somewhat Saturday evening.
The match is scheduled for Monday and is the last 2026 World Cup game to be played in Seattle, Reuters reported. TicketData.com said the get-in price for that fixture had reached nearly $4,000 on June 1.
Prices moved in both directions as the knockout matchup took shape. Reuters reported that the cheapest listed ticket fell to $1,549 on Tuesday, then climbed to $2,836 after the United States secured its last-16 place with a 2-0 win over Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The price then slid again in the following days. TicketData.com data cited by Reuters showed the get-in figure at $1,423 on Saturday afternoon before it rose to $1,635 by 6 p.m. Eastern time, or 23:00 GMT.
Where the match ranks
That late increase changed the ranking of the U.S.-Belgium game among the eight last-16 fixtures, according to Reuters. The match moved from the fourth-highest get-in price to the second-highest.
TicketData.com listed Mexico’s match against England as the most expensive round-of-16 game at $3,574, Reuters reported. As of 6 p.m. Eastern time on July 4, the data cited by Reuters showed these get-in prices:
- Mexico-England, July 5: $3,574
- USA-Belgium, July 6: $1,635
- Argentina-Egypt, July 7: $1,599
- Brazil-Norway, July 5: $1,537
- Portugal-Spain, July 6: $1,367
- Paraguay-France, July 4: $914
- Canada-Morocco, July 4: $721
Reuters said the decline in the Seattle price stood out because Belgium has been based close to the stadium. The Belgian squad’s camp is at the Sounders FC Performance Center, about 16 kilometres, or 10 miles, south of Seattle Stadium, according to Reuters.
Monday’s game will be Belgium’s third in Seattle at this World Cup, Reuters reported. Belgium drew 1-1 with Egypt in the group stage, then beat Senegal 3-2 in a comeback win in the round of 32.
Reuters also reported movement in prices for Canada’s match against Morocco. Canada became the first team eliminated from the last 16 after losing 3-0 to Morocco on Saturday, and the get-in price for that match fell 14% from $838 over the final 72 hours, according to TicketData.com figures cited by Reuters.
