Israeli attacks across the Gaza Strip killed at least three Palestinians and wounded 15 others on Monday, medical sources told Al Jazeera. The strikes add to the toll from Israeli operations that Al Jazeera reported have continued despite an October ceasefire agreement.

One Palestinian was killed when an Israeli drone struck a motorcycle in Tal al-Hawa, a neighbourhood in southern Gaza City, according to Al Jazeera. Medical sources said nine civilians were wounded in the attack, which involved two missiles.

Anadolu Agency identified the man killed in Tal al-Hawa as Osama Naim Shamlakh, 28.

In a separate strike in northwest Gaza City, Israeli forces targeted a police post near the al-Tawam roundabout, Al Jazeera reported. Four officers were wounded, some seriously, according to the report.

Anadolu Agency later reported that one of the wounded officers, Thaer Ramzi Fayyad, 36, died of his injuries. Al Jazeera said details about the third Palestinian killed were not yet clear.

Multiple areas hit

Al Jazeera reported several other Israeli attacks in Gaza on Monday. In Khan Younis, in southern Gaza, an Israeli air raid hit a tent housing displaced Palestinians in the al-Mawasi area, and the wounded were taken to Nasser Hospital.

In central Gaza, another attack struck a vehicle on al-Rashid Road in az-Zawayda, according to Al Jazeera. Casualties from that attack were transferred to Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir el-Balah.

A young man was slightly wounded when an Israeli strike hit an apartment in the Maghazi refugee camp, Al Jazeera reported. Israeli military vehicles also fired toward homes east of the Bureij refugee camp and near the Halawa displacement camp in eastern Jabalia, with no casualties reported in those incidents.

Concerns over Israeli-controlled areas

Al Jazeera also reported that Israeli forces continued to expand areas under their control inside Gaza. Concrete blocks marking Israeli-controlled zones were moved to about 200 metres from Salah al-Din Road in Gaza City’s Shujayea neighbourhood, according to the report.

Salah al-Din Road is Gaza’s main north-south route, and Al Jazeera reported that the movement of the blocks has raised fears that Palestinians using the road could come under fire.

Under the October ceasefire terms described by Al Jazeera, Israel would control territory behind a demarcation line in eastern Gaza known as the “yellow line.” The Israeli military says that area covers about 58 percent of Gaza, according to Al Jazeera.

Al Jazeera reported that Israel has been gradually expanding the zone, while Palestinians say people have been shot and killed after approaching the line, even as its position shifts.

Gaza’s Ministry of Health says Israeli violations of the ceasefire have killed 1,108 Palestinians and wounded 3,578 others, according to Al Jazeera. Al Jazeera reported that Israel’s war on Gaza began in October 2023 and has killed more than 73,000 Palestinians.
