2027 Bentley Supersports pares back the Continental GT formula
Bentley’s 500-car Supersports drops hybrid power, all-wheel drive and rear seats for a rear-drive V8 coupe due in 2027.

The 2027 Bentley Supersports is a limited-run, rear-wheel-drive V8 coupe that removes the hybrid system, all-wheel drive and rear seats from the Continental GT formula. Bentley says all 500 cars have been reserved, making the model an unusually track-focused direction for the luxury marque.
The engineering focus is lower mass and sharper responses rather than the highest possible power figure. Bentley lists the two-seat car at under 2,000kg, while Ars Technica reported a reduction of about 500kg, or 1,100lb, against the hybrid Continental GT.
What makes the 2027 Bentley Supersports different?
A revised 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 sends its output only to the rear wheels. Bentley rates it at 666 PS, or 657bhp, and 800Nm, or 590lb-ft, and says it has an uprated gearbox, wider rear track and an electronic limited-slip differential that uses torque vectoring.
The chassis retains rear-wheel steering and uses recalibrated suspension. Ars Technica reported that the car has 48-volt active anti-roll bars on both axles, as well as revised dampers and air suspension. In its Laguna Seca track test, the outlet said the rear steering and differential helped the car turn more readily, and described it as manageable with its stability systems switched on.
Carbon-fibre is central to the weight and aero work, including the roof and exterior body kit. Bentley says the kit produces up to 300kg more downforce than the current Continental GT Speed. The company cautions that weight and performance depend on an individual car’s options.

How quick is the Bentley Supersports?
Bentley’s current product page claims 0-60mph in 3.4 seconds and a top speed of 199mph. It says the acceleration figure applies with the optional performance tyre fitted as original equipment. CAR Magazine previously reported different figures of 3.7 seconds and 192mph, so Bentley’s official figures should be read as manufacturer claims subject to configuration.
The name reaches back to Bentley’s 1925 Super Sport, according to CAR Magazine. Later Continental GT Supersports versions arrived in 2009 and 2017, but the new car departs from the hybrid, all-wheel-drive setup used by the current Continental GT.
When will Bentley Supersports deliveries begin?
Bentley says production will start in the fourth quarter of 2026, with first deliveries planned for early 2027 in specified markets including the UK, parts of Europe, North America, Australia, New Zealand, Japan and selected Middle East and Asian markets.
One Supersports used in Bentley’s “FULL SEND” promotional film had a hydraulic handbrake and software changes enabling power-braking. Bentley said those were shoot-specific changes to a standard car, rather than listed production equipment.
