Russian ballistic missiles hit Kyiv and the surrounding region early Sunday, killing at least one person and injuring nine others, Al Jazeera reported. The attack matters because it brought fresh casualties and fires to Ukraine’s capital as air raid sirens sounded across the city.
According to Al Jazeera, the missiles struck residential and commercial areas in and around Kyiv. Fires broke out in homes, a supermarket and other buildings after the strikes.
