US President Donald Trump threatened a hard response after an Iran Jordan base attack involving ballistic missiles launched by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, according to Al Jazeera. Trump said Iran’s missiles were “knocked down” but that the United States would respond anyway.
In remarks reported by Al Jazeera, Trump said Iran would be hit “very hard” after the strike on US forces in Jordan. He also said, “It’s our turn,” signaling that Washington was preparing to answer the attack.
What happened in the Iran Jordan base attack?
Al Jazeera reported that the IRGC fired ballistic missiles at a US base in Jordan. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps is Iran’s powerful military force with its own ground, air and naval units, and it is separate from Iran’s regular armed forces.
Trump said the incoming missiles were intercepted, according to Al Jazeera. No casualty figures from the Jordan base attack were reported in the updates.
Strikes in Iraq add to the regional toll
Iranian media said four Iranian advisers were killed in joint US-Saudi strikes on Iraq, according to Al Jazeera. Iraq condemned the strikes and warned that they could pull the country further into the wider conflict.
Al Jazeera reported that at least 20 members of Iraq’s Popular Mobilisation Forces were killed in the strikes, while 32 others were wounded. The attacks affected seven Iraqi provinces, according to the same report.

Al Jazeera also reported that Israeli forces killed two Palestinians and wounded more than a dozen others in attacks on Gaza. The attacks took place despite a US-brokered ceasefire, according to the report.
Separately, maritime security firms said a drone struck a US-owned gas storage tanker at Egypt’s Mediterranean port of Damietta, Al Jazeera reported. The strike caused a fire on the vessel, according to those firms.
The reported incidents point to simultaneous pressure across several parts of the Middle East: a direct attack on US forces in Jordan, strikes inside Iraq, renewed violence in Gaza and a maritime incident at an Egyptian port. Al Jazeera described the developments as part of the continuing United States and Israel war on Iran and its consequences across the region.
