SteelSeries is selling the Arctis Nova Pro Wireless gaming headset for $239.99 through a blemished-box offer, according to The Verge. The deal matters for players shopping for a premium wireless headset because The Verge reported the same model is currently listed for about $300 to $350 at other retailers.
The discount is tied to the condition of the packaging, not the headset itself. SteelSeries says the boxes are damaged, while the hardware inside is unused and undamaged, and the company says the headsets carry the same one-year warranty as its other new headsets.
Which models are included
The Verge reported that the Xbox version of the Arctis Nova Pro Wireless is available in black and white at the sale price. That model works with Xbox and also supports PlayStation, PC and Nintendo Switch, according to the report.
The PlayStation version is also discounted, but only in white, The Verge reported. That version supports the same platforms except Xbox, and both versions can also connect to mobile devices over Bluetooth, according to the report.
What the headset offers
The Arctis Nova Pro Wireless includes active noise cancellation, a noise-canceling microphone and Bluetooth support, according to The Verge. The headset also comes with a USB base station used for audio controls and battery handling.
The base station can charge a spare battery, which The Verge said can reduce downtime when one battery runs out. The station also provides onboard controls for game profiles and audio mixing, and it can combine as many as three inputs at once, including Bluetooth, according to The Verge.
- Sale price: $239.99 at SteelSeries, according to The Verge.
- Condition: blemished box, with unused and undamaged hardware, according to SteelSeries.
- Warranty: the same one-year coverage as new SteelSeries headsets, according to SteelSeries.
- Platform support: Xbox model works with Xbox, PlayStation, PC and Switch; PlayStation model excludes Xbox, according to The Verge.
Review notes
The Verge described the Nova Pro Wireless as a strong headset when it launched four years ago and said it remains competitive at the lower sale price. Its review coverage highlighted the feature set, including noise cancellation, Bluetooth and the base station.
Comfort may be the main caveat. The Verge said its reviewers did not agree on fit, though neither found the headset uncomfortable; both said it weighed more than other SteelSeries headsets.
The Verge also compared the discounted model with the newer and pricier Nova Pro Omni, saying the Arctis Nova Pro Wireless includes most of the same distinctive features for less money. The sale is available through SteelSeries for the listed blemished-box configurations.
