Samsung is offering a $30 store credit to people who register interest in its next Galaxy phones before they are announced, according to The Verge. The promotion matters for buyers considering Samsung’s next foldables because the credit is tied to the preorder window and cannot reduce the price of the phone itself.

Samsung’s next Galaxy Unpacked event is scheduled for July 22, 2026, The Verge reported. Samsung is promoting the event with the line “A new shape unfolds,” language that points toward foldable devices without naming the products ahead of the launch.

The phones have not been officially announced, according to The Verge. The publication said it expects Samsung to show refreshed versions of its Galaxy Z Flip and Galaxy Z Fold designs, and it also anticipates a new wider foldable phone based on earlier reporting.

How the credit works

Samsung’s reservation offer gives eligible shoppers a $30 credit at checkout if they register in advance and later preorder one of the new phones after the announcement, The Verge reported. The credit is applied automatically as long as the shopper uses the same email address during preorder checkout.

The credit has limits. The Verge reported that buyers must use it during the preorder transaction, meaning it cannot be saved for a later purchase.

Samsung also does not allow the $30 to be applied to the cost of the phone, according to The Verge. Instead, the credit can go toward add-ons such as accessories or services bought alongside the preorder.

Samsung lists select Galaxy rings, earbuds, watches and tablets as eligible items for the credit, The Verge reported. The credit can also be used toward Samsung Care Plus, the company’s device protection service.

What Samsung has confirmed

Samsung has confirmed the Unpacked date and the reservation promotion, according to The Verge. The company has not yet announced the names, prices or specifications of the phones expected at the event.

That leaves the promotion aimed at shoppers who already expect to consider Samsung’s next Galaxy foldables. Registering interest does not appear to require a purchase, but the $30 benefit only has value if the customer follows through with a preorder using the same email account, according to The Verge.

The offer also signals Samsung’s usual push to build demand before a flagship launch. For buyers, the main practical detail is that the credit is an accessory or service discount attached to a preorder, rather than a direct reduction on the upcoming handset.
