Apple has raised prices across its iPad and MacBook lines, according to The Verge, but several retailers are still selling iPads at discounted prices. The remaining deals matter because The Verge reported that some stores are still working through inventory priced below Apple’s new list prices, while some of the strongest Prime Day discounts have already begun to disappear.
The Verge’s Sheena Vasani reported that the M4 iPad Air was one of the standout iPad offers during Prime Day. The 11-inch iPad Air with Wi-Fi and 128GB of storage fell to $519 at the start of the sale, which The Verge described as a record low.
Amazon has sold out of that Wi-Fi model, according to The Verge, but Best Buy was still listing it at $519. The Verge said that price is $230 below Apple’s new list price. Amazon was also selling the LTE version of the M4 iPad Air at a discount, according to the report.
Current iPad discounts
The Verge listed several iPad deals still available across Amazon, Walmart, Best Buy and Target. The discounts cover Apple’s entry-level iPad, the iPad Mini, the iPad Air and the iPad Pro.
iPad Air M4: The Verge reported that Best Buy had the 128GB Wi-Fi model for $519. The tablet includes Apple’s M4 chip, 12GB of RAM, Apple Intelligence features, Apple Pencil Pro support, Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6, according to The Verge.
iPad (2025): The Verge reported that the 128GB Wi-Fi version was available for $299 at Amazon, Walmart and Best Buy, down from $449. The model uses Apple’s A16 processor and has a high-resolution display, according to The Verge.
iPad Mini (2024): The Verge reported that Best Buy listed the 128GB Wi-Fi model at $449, down from $599. Amazon had a 256GB Wi-Fi version for $500, while Target listed a 128GB Wi-Fi model for $500, according to The Verge.
iPad Pro (2025): The Verge reported that Amazon had the 11-inch, 256GB iPad Pro for $899, down from $1,199. Amazon also listed the 11-inch, 512GB model at $1,099 and the 13-inch, 256GB model at $1,499, according to The Verge.
How the models differ
The iPad Air sits between Apple’s entry-level iPad and the iPad Pro, according to The Verge. The report said the Air’s faster M4 processor, 12GB of RAM, Apple Intelligence support and newer wireless standards make it a stronger option than the base iPad for buyers who want more headroom.
The 2025 entry-level iPad remains aimed at casual use, according to The Verge, with enough performance for light games and productivity apps. The Verge described the iPad Mini as a compact travel-friendly tablet with an 8.3-inch display, Apple Pencil Pro support and the ability to pair with a Bluetooth keyboard for lighter work.
At the high end, The Verge reported that the 2025 iPad Pro uses Apple’s M5 processor, adds an N1 chip, and includes a C1X chip in cellular versions. The report said the newest Pro models are faster, support Wi-Fi 7, charge more quickly and start with 12GB of RAM.
The Verge reported that discounts are already narrowing as retailers sell through inventory. For buyers comparing Apple’s tablets after the company’s price increases, the best remaining deals depend on availability at each retailer.
