Amazon Prime Day is bringing discounts on PC accessories at a time when many computers and devices are getting pricier, according to The Verge. The deals roundup from Nathan Edwards and Antonio G. Di Benedetto focuses on peripherals that have not been hit as hard by rising memory and storage costs.

The Verge says prices have climbed for memory chips, hard drives and solid-state storage, pushing up costs for desktop RAM, laptop RAM, SSDs, hard drives and products that use those components. The site says consoles, desktops, laptops, tablets, phones and MacBooks have all become more expensive.

Accessories such as keyboards, mice, webcams and monitors are a brighter spot, The Verge reports. Its Prime Day picks include mechanical keyboards, ergonomic and gaming mice, a 5K monitor and a programmable control pad.

Keyboard deals

The Verge highlights the 8BitDo Retro 87 Mechanical Keyboard in the Xbox Edition at $71 at Amazon and $72 at 8BitDo. The site lists the keyboard as 41% off its $120 price and says it uses a translucent green design inspired by the original Xbox, with two large customizable buttons, Bluetooth, a tenkeyless layout and hot-swappable Kailh Jellyfish X switches.

Other 8BitDo Retro 87 colors were also discounted depending on timing, according to The Verge. The M Edition, which the site says has an IBM Model M look, was listed at $67.89, down from $100.

The Verge also notes that the 8BitDo 18-key Retro number pad was selling for about $35.99, down from about $45. The accessory has Bluetooth, 2.4GHz wireless and a seven-segment display that lets it work as a standalone calculator, according to the site.

Additional keyboard deals cited by The Verge include the Keychron V5 Ultra at $107.99, or $12 off, and the Iqunix Magi65 at $108.30, down from about $130. The Verge lists the Asus ROG Falcata at $215 at Best Buy, a 39% discount from $350, and describes it as a Hall effect gaming keyboard with ergonomic considerations.

Mouse discounts

The Logitech MX Master 3S is listed by The Verge at $90 at Best Buy, down from $120. The site says the mouse is favored by many of its staff members for comfort and customization, and that it connects over Bluetooth, a 2.4GHz receiver or USB-C cable.

The Verge also points to the Logitech MX Vertical at $63 at Amazon with a coupon, down from $100. The site says the vertical design is meant to reduce muscle strain, and notes that senior reviewer Victoria Song uses it as her mouse of choice.

Other mouse deals in the roundup include the Logitech Lift at $56, down from $65; the Keychron M5 vertical gaming mouse at $39.99, down from $49.99; and the Razer Viper V3 Pro at $94.99, compared with the roughly $130 level where The Verge says it had recently been hovering.

Monitor and control-pad picks

The Asus ProArt PA27JCV 5K monitor is listed at $634 at Amazon, down from $799, according to The Verge. The site calls it a lower-cost alternative to Apple’s Studio Display and cites its built-in KVM switch, HDR support, HDMI, DisplayPort and USB-C with up to 96W charging.

The Verge also highlights the Elgato Stream Deck MK. 2 at $114 at Amazon and $120 at Best Buy. The listing describes the device as a wired USB keypad with 15 customizable LCD keys and an interchangeable faceplate.

The Verge disclosed that Vox Media may earn a commission when readers buy products through its links.
