Google’s next Pixel phones and watches may arrive with higher entry prices, according to reports from Dealabs. The rumored changes would make Google’s coming hardware lineup more expensive at a time when device makers are dealing with higher memory and storage costs.
Dealabs reported that the 41mm Pixel Watch 5 may start at $399 for the Wi-Fi model, while the LTE version may cost $499. 9to5Google spotted the watch pricing report.
Those prices would be $50 above the Pixel Watch 4 launch prices cited by The Verge, which were $349 for Wi-Fi and $449 for LTE. Dealabs also reported that the larger 45mm Pixel Watch 5 may cost $429 with Wi-Fi and $529 with LTE, up $30 from the comparable previous-generation models.
Pixel 11 storage changes may raise the entry price
A separate Dealabs report described possible European pricing for the Pixel 11 phones. According to Dealabs, Google may remove the 128GB storage option from the base Pixel 11, making 256GB the entry configuration at €999.
The Verge reported that the Pixel 10 started at €899 with 128GB of storage. If the Dealabs report is accurate, the starting price would rise because the lower-capacity model would no longer be available, while the 256GB price would stay at the same level.
Dealabs reported that the Pixel 11 Pro may start at €1,199. The Verge said the Pixel 10 Pro started at €1,099, while noting that the rumored 256GB price for the next Pro model would remain unchanged.
The higher-end models may see broader increases, according to Dealabs. The Pixel 11 Pro XL and Pixel 11 Pro Fold may each rise by €100 across configurations, with starting prices of €1,399 and €1,999, respectively.
Memory shortage is pressuring device prices
The Verge has reported that a global shortage of memory and storage is affecting device makers, with demand from AI companies contributing to the strain. The same report linked the shortage to price increases and changes in available memory or storage configurations across the tech industry.
The Verge also reported that some companies have already raised device prices or removed certain memory and storage variants. A previous rumor cited by The Verge said the Pixel 11 could start with 8GB of RAM, down from 12GB in last year’s model, because of the shortage.
Google has not yet announced the Pixel 11 or Pixel Watch 5 pricing. The company is set to introduce its new Pixel devices at a launch event on August 12, according to The Verge.
