Google has posted an early teaser for its Pixel 11 phones, and the preview points to a visible new element on the device’s camera bar. According to 9to5Google, the video shows a small glowing orb that changes color beside the camera hardware.
The clip appears on Google’s Store page for the Pixel 11 lineup. The page does not explain the light, name the component or say whether it is tied to a hardware feature, a software animation or a notification function.
The teaser gives the orb a prominent place on the camera bar, a part of the Pixel design that Google has used as a defining visual feature in recent models. In the Pixel 11 preview, the illuminated element sits off to one side rather than across the full bar, according to 9to5Google’s description of the video.
One possible clue is a feature name that has already appeared in Android testing. The Verge previously reported that Android 17 beta builds included references to “Pixel Glow” light animations, though Google has not connected that beta finding to the Pixel 11 teaser.
That leaves the purpose of the light unresolved. Google has not said whether it will act as a status indicator, support camera functions, respond to software features or serve another role on the phone.
The company is expected to say more soon. Google has announced an Aug. 12 event, giving the company a likely venue to explain the Pixel 11 hardware and any new light-based feature shown in the teaser.
