JBL’s Flip 7 portable Bluetooth speaker is selling for $89.95 at Woot, $70 below its $149.99 list price, in a deal scheduled to run through July 17. The sale matters for shoppers looking for a small outdoor-ready speaker, with Woot offering multiple colors and a 90-day warranty.

The Verge reported that the Woot price marks a new all-time low for the Flip 7. Woot’s listing describes the unit as new, portable, waterproof and drop-proof.

What the Flip 7 offers

JBL’s Flip 7 is roughly the size of a water bottle, according to The Verge, but is designed to deliver full and clear audio for portable use. JBL rates the speaker IP68 for resistance to dust and water, and The Verge says it can withstand drops of up to one meter onto concrete.

JBL includes two carry options with the speaker: an interchangeable strap and a carabiner attachment. Those accessories let users clip it to a bag or carry it by hand.

The Flip 7 is rated for up to 14 hours of battery life, according to the details cited by The Verge. JBL’s Playtime Boost mode can add another two hours when users need more time away from a charger.

The speaker also supports pairing with multiple compatible JBL speakers for a larger setup. JBL’s AI Sound Boost feature is meant to limit distortion when the speaker is played at higher volumes, according to The Verge.

For users who want better quality than standard Bluetooth can provide, the Flip 7 supports lossless audio over USB-C with compatible devices and services. The Verge says that connection can provide clearer and more detailed playback than Bluetooth.
