Home Depot is updating its 12-foot Halloween skeleton with app-controlled speech and more animated eyes, according to The Verge. The changes are meant to keep the oversized decoration, known as Skelly, fresh as the retailer prepares its next Halloween lineup.
The new version lets owners use a mobile app to talk through the skeleton’s moving mouth, The Verge reported. That feature comes from the smaller 6.5-foot Ultra Skelly that Home Depot introduced last year, according to the report.
Skelly is scheduled to go on sale online starting tomorrow for $379, The Verge reported, citing Home Depot’s product listing. The decoration is also expected to reach Home Depot stores later this summer.
The 2026 model also expands the skeleton’s animated LCD eye options. The Verge reported that Home Depot last updated Skelly two years ago with eight eye animations, while the new version raises that number to 20.
Home Depot is pairing the returning skeleton with a broader group of Halloween characters, according to The Verge. The report did not detail the full collection, but it said the new items will arrive alongside Skelly as the retailer builds out its seasonal assortment.
Skelly has become one of Home Depot’s best-known Halloween decorations, helped by its 12-foot height and recurring updates. This year’s additions focus on giving owners more control over the display, especially through the app-based voice feature and expanded LCD eye animations.
