Apple Q3 2026 earnings showed continued growth in two of the company’s biggest hardware lines, with iPhone and Mac revenue rising despite pressure from a global memory shortage. Apple said Thursday that iPhone sales increased 22% to $54.25 billion, while Mac sales climbed 29% to $10.35 billion.
The results matter because device makers are facing higher component costs tied to tight supplies of memory, a key part used in phones, computers and tablets. The Verge reported that Apple raised prices in June across Macs, iPads and other devices as the shortage weighs on the broader consumer electronics business.
How did Apple perform in Q3 2026?
Apple’s earnings report showed double-digit growth in iPhone and Mac revenue for the June quarter, according to the company. Apple also said Services revenue grew by double digits, and CEO Tim Cook said in the company’s press release that revenue increased by double digits in every geographic segment.
Apple did not say in the reported figures that iPhone prices had risen. The Verge reported that Apple has not yet increased iPhone prices, even as it has raised prices for some other hardware categories.
The company’s Mac sales growth came after the June price changes. The Verge reported that those changes included the MacBook Neo, whose price rose to $699 from $599 after launching in March.
What is the memory shortage affecting Apple?
A memory shortage means supplies of RAM and related components are constrained, which can raise costs for companies that build computers, phones and other electronics. The Verge reported that the shortage is expected to last until 2027 and beyond.
RAM is short for random access memory. It helps devices run apps and handle active tasks, so shortages can affect production costs across laptops, tablets and smartphones.
What is changing next at Apple?
The earnings report is set to be Apple’s last with Tim Cook as chief executive, according to The Verge. Cook is scheduled to step down on September 1, with John Ternus, Apple’s vice president of hardware engineering, expected to succeed him.
Apple is also preparing for its next iPhone cycle. MacRumors reported that analysts expect the iPhone 18 could see a price increase of as much as $200 when the lineup launches this fall.
The Verge reported that Apple plans to broadly release a more personalized Siri AI alongside the iPhone 18. The update is expected to let Siri answer questions about on-screen content, search across apps and complete tasks such as adding calendar events.
Apple also announced this week a new Upgrade program, according to The Verge. The program will let customers lease an iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch or Mac for a fixed monthly payment.
