Fountain 0 said Tuesday that it is developing an AI-generated film based on The Odyssey, placing its project in the same news cycle as Christopher Nolan’s theatrical adaptation. The announcement matters because it shows how AI film studios are trying to draw attention from major Hollywood releases built around familiar stories.
The studio’s project is called Odysseus: The Fall, according to Fountain 0. The Verge reported that the film is an AI-generated reimagining focused on Odysseus, the central figure in Homer’s epic poem.
Nolan’s version of The Odyssey is expected to be one of the weekend’s major movie events. Deadline projected that the film could bring in between $80 million and $100 million in its first few days, while The Verge reported that interest in the release is tied in part to Nolan’s use of advanced filmmaking technology.
The timing gives Fountain 0’s smaller AI project a clear point of comparison. The Verge described the announcement as an attempt to benefit from the attention surrounding Nolan’s film, which has already generated broad interest among moviegoers.
Fountain 0’s announcement also lands as AI-generated imagery and video continue to push into entertainment marketing and production. The company’s promotional material includes an AI-generated image of a Trojan soldier, according to the image credit attached to the announcement.
The available details do not say how much of Odysseus: The Fall will be produced with AI tools, who will appear in it, or when viewers will be able to watch it. Fountain 0 has said only that it is working on the project and has presented it as a new version of The Odyssey.
The two films are not comparable in scale based on the details released so far. Nolan’s adaptation is positioned for a major theatrical rollout, while Fountain 0’s project is being introduced through an AI-film studio announcement tied to an existing wave of attention around the same ancient story.
