Impact Confections is turning WARHEADS’ mascot and social-media voice into a full-time job, a sign of how consumer brands are formalizing the work behind short-form content and online community management.

The candy brand has opened applications for a new Wally Warheads role that blends creator work, social engagement and character-led marketing. Instead of a standard cover letter, applicants must submit a 30-second audition video with a resume.

The job centers on the Wally Warheads character, who has appeared in brand videos, comments and events for the sour candy line. The person hired will make content for TikTok, Instagram, YouTube and other social platforms, interact with the brand’s online audience and help define Wally’s voice.

The role also includes in-person duties. WARHEADS says the hire will attend events, take part in creator activations, work on product launches and, at times, wear the Wally mascot head.

The position is hybrid and based in Janesville, Wisconsin, with one to two days a week in the office. The brand is seeking someone comfortable on camera, familiar with internet culture and able to tell a story in short-form video.

The application format reflects a broader shift in brand marketing. Candy, snack and restaurant companies have increasingly treated TikTok-era community management as a public-facing performance job, where timing, editing, tone and character voice can matter as much as traditional ad copy.

WARHEADS is also framing the opening as a role with creative responsibility, not just a mascot assignment. The brand said the selected candidate will help shape Wally’s online personality across platforms, making the job part content studio, part social media desk and part live-event presence.

In a tongue-in-cheek statement included with the announcement, Arturo, identified as chief financial officer, said: “Apparently ‘just post more’ isn’t considered a social media strategy.”

The search gives WARHEADS a way to recruit for personality and editing skill before the interview stage. A short audition video can show whether a candidate understands the tone of a character account, can work within a tight format and can appear naturally on camera.

The full-time Wally Warheads creator role is now open for applications, according to the brand. WARHEADS did not list pay details in the announcement.
