Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce married Friday night at Madison Square Garden in New York, The Associated Press reported. The private ceremony became a public event outside the Midtown arena, while Swift’s wedding look put Christian Dior, Christian Louboutin and Cartier in the spotlight.
Swift’s publicist, Tree Paine, said in an email that actor Adam Sandler officiated the ceremony, according to AP. Stevie Nicks performed for the guests, Good Morning America hosts who attended the wedding said Saturday.
The couple kept the wedding party small. Paine said Swift’s younger brother, Austin Swift, served as her man of honor, while Kelce’s older brother and “New Heights” podcast co-host, Jason Kelce, was his best man. Paine said there were no bridesmaids or groomsmen.
According to Paine, Swift and Kelce wore Christian Dior Haute Couture by designer Jonathan Anderson. Their shoes were custom made by Christian Louboutin, and Swift wore Cartier jewelry.
A celebrity crowd at the Garden
The wedding brought together figures from music, film, television and sports, AP reported. Guests included Bradley Cooper, Zoë Kravitz, Hugh Grant, Ethan Hawke, Gigi Hadid, Karlie Kloss, Chris Rock, Steven Spielberg, Camila Cabello and Jenny Han.
Kelce’s football world was also represented. AP reported that Kansas City Chiefs coach Andy Reid attended, along with Chiefs running back Kareem Hunt. Tom Brady, Cooper Kupp, JuJu Smith-Schuster, Joe Buck and Stephen A. Smith were also among the sports figures at the arena.
Outside Madison Square Garden, a sign announced the marriage with the message “JUST&T MARRIED,” AP reported. An AP camera showed black SUVs delivering guests in formalwear as fans and onlookers gathered near the venue during hot weather. Rain briefly moved through after the marriage was announced.
Guests appeared to keep the event largely off social media once inside, AP reported, with phones apparently barred from the ceremony. That left the public view mostly to the arena exterior, the arriving vehicles and the crowd of Swift fans waiting nearby.
Good Morning America hosts describe the ceremony
Good Morning America’s George Stephanopoulos and Robin Roberts, who said they attended the wedding, discussed the event Saturday. Stephanopoulos described the setup as a “garden inside the garden” and said the large arena still felt personal.
Roberts said both Swift and Kelce wrote their own vows. The program also confirmed Nicks’ performance, adding one of Swift’s longtime musical influences to the night’s list of participants.
Swift and Kelce’s relationship has drawn global attention since they began dating in 2023 after Kelce attended her Eras Tour stop at the Chiefs’ stadium, AP reported. Their marriage brought that pop-culture focus to one of New York’s best-known sports and entertainment venues.
Fans gathered outside despite having no view of most of the ceremony. AP spoke with Lori Powers, who traveled by train from north of Manhattan, and Cecily Hall, who said the pairing of sports and music made Madison Square Garden an apt setting.
