AxiomPrint has added lamination capacity and Scodix digital embellishment technology to its restaurant menu printing operation, a move aimed at hospitality businesses that need menus built for frequent handling. The Glendale, California-based commercial printer serves restaurants, hotels, bars, designers and other business customers nationwide.

The expansion broadens the company’s custom menu work across dine-in menus, takeout menus, laminated menus, folded pieces, booklets, disposable paper menus, cocktail and bar menus, event menus, plastic menus and premium specialty formats. For restaurant groups and franchise operators, the practical issue is consistency: menus often need to match across locations while standing up to spills, cleaning and daily use.

Gary, founder of AxiomPrint, said a restaurant menu has become part of the guest experience, with material, texture, color, format and finishing expected to match the restaurant’s atmosphere, service and food.

Lamination for heavier use

The company’s added production-grade lamination equipment is designed for both short orders and higher-volume menu runs. Laminated menus are commonly used in dining rooms, bars, hotels and casual-service settings because they can better tolerate moisture, fingerprints, scratches and repeated handling.

Restaurants can choose matte or gloss lamination. Matte finishing reduces glare and can make text easier to read under bright dining-room lighting, while gloss creates a shinier surface that can strengthen color contrast and food photography.

AxiomPrint said the added capacity is intended to keep appearance, adhesion and finishing consistent throughout an order. That matters for hospitality groups, resorts and multi-location restaurant operators that may be updating menus for several properties at once.

Premium finishing for brand presentation

The Scodix equipment adds raised spot UV, digital foil and raised foil options to menu projects. Those effects can be applied to logos, borders, headings, decorative patterns or selected images where a restaurant wants a more tactile printed piece.

Available foil effects can include gold, silver, rose gold, copper and holographic finishes, depending on the artwork and how the menu is built. Fine-dining restaurants may use more restrained metallic details, while bars or event venues may choose bolder textures or reflective accents.

The new finishing options sit within AxiomPrint’s broader restaurant menu printing services for hospitality operators, which also include custom sizes, paper stocks, folding configurations, binding methods and specialty materials. The company positions the offering for both independent restaurants ordering limited quantities and larger groups that need recurring production.

Range of menu formats

AxiomPrint’s expanded program covers common restaurant and hospitality formats, including:

  • Single-sheet dine-in menus
  • Folded and tri-fold menus
  • Multipage menu booklets
  • Laminated menus
  • Takeout and to-go menus
  • Disposable paper menus
  • Cocktail, wine and bar menus
  • Coffee shop and café menus
  • Hotel and room-service menus
  • Catering, banquet and event menus
  • Plastic and water-resistant menus
  • Die-cut and custom-shaped menus
  • Premium menus with raised spot UV or foil
  • Short-run seasonal and promotional menus
  • Multi-location and franchise menu programs

The company says its online ordering, prepress support, custom estimating and nationwide delivery are meant to help customers manage menu changes tied to seasonal dishes, price updates, new locations and brand redesigns.

Gary said some customers need quick, lower-cost takeout menus, while others want premium menus for a higher-end dining environment. AxiomPrint has built its equipment, product selection and workflow to support both types of work, he said.
