The strikes came after an attack by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps on the Cyprus-flagged M/V GFS Galaxy in the Strait of Hormuz, Al Jazeera reported. One crew member was left missing, and a fire disabled the vessel, according to the report.
CENTCOM described the operation as the third round of US strikes on Iran this week. Al Jazeera reported the strikes were directed at military facilities, including sites linked to missiles and drones.
The Strait of Hormuz is the location where Al Jazeera said the M/V GFS Galaxy was attacked. The report identified the vessel as Cyprus-flagged and said the fire left the ship disabled.
