Officials reported 11 deaths in Ukraine and six in Russia as missile, bomb and drone strikes hit civilian and logistics sites.

Ukraine Russia attacks killed at least 17 people on Friday, officials on both sides said, as Moscow struck targets in Ukraine and Kyiv hit sites inside Russia. The casualties showed the continued reach of missile, bomb and drone attacks in a war increasingly marked by strikes away from the immediate front.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said a Russian missile strike in the Kyiv region killed six people and wounded dozens. Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko had earlier reported explosions in the capital and urged residents to remain in shelters while air defences were operating.
In Sloviansk, Vadym Filashkin, the city’s governor, said five people were killed and nine were injured when Russian forces dropped two aviation bombs. Filashkin said Russian attacks had caused multiple casualties in Sloviansk for a second straight day and urged people still near the front line to evacuate.

The reported Russian strikes hit the Kyiv region, Sloviansk and port infrastructure in the southern Mykolaiv region. Acting regional governor Heorhii Reshetilov said on Telegram that a Russian drone attack damaged two civilian vessels at a port site in Mykolaiv, with no injuries reported.
Al Jazeera correspondent Audrey MacAlpine, reporting from Kyiv, said daytime Russian ballistic attacks were uncommon and that Friday’s strike pattern marked a change. She also said reports from some Telegram channels and officials pointed to the possibility of another large attack in the coming days, while ballistic threats against Ukrainian cities had increased over the summer.
Russia’s military also claimed it had taken the villages of Zakharivka and Ivashchyne in Ukraine’s Kharkiv region. Moscow said separately that it had struck 27 vessels used by Ukraine’s military over the past week.
What did Russia report after Ukrainian strikes?
In Russia’s Kirov region, Governor Alexander Sokolov said a Ukrainian missile attack on a factory killed six people and injured 26. Russian officials also reported strikes on sites connected to Wildberries, the Russian e-commerce company.
Wildberries founder Tatyana Kim said warehouses in Saint Petersburg, the surrounding Leningrad region and Simferopol, the main city in Crimea, had been targeted. Kim said some premises and goods were saved, evacuations took place at all affected warehouses, and preliminary information showed no casualties.
Zelenskyy described attacks on Russian logistics as successful in a social media post and said the operation was continuing. Al Jazeera and Reuters reported that Wildberries warehouses had been targeted four times since last weekend as of Friday.
The Russian Ministry of Defence said it shot down 571 Ukrainian drones overnight. The ministry said the attacks covered more than a dozen Russian regions as well as Crimea, which Russia has annexed.
