Al Jazeera has published an archived episode of The Take focused on Palestinian-American comedian, actor and writer Mo Amer and the role comedy plays in his response to grief, war and displacement. The 23-minute, 39-second programme frames Amer as one of the most visible Palestinian voices in comedy, according to Al Jazeera.
The episode looks at how Amer has used humour over the years to confront pain, challenge silence and speak about Palestinians living under attack, Al Jazeera said. It asks what comedy can still do during a period the network describes as marked by heavy loss.
Amer is the featured guest in the episode. Al Jazeera identifies him as a comedian, actor and writer, and links to his social media account under the handle @realmoamer.
The programme was published on Al Jazeera’s website on June 12, 2026, but the network said it came from its archive. Al Jazeera said the episode first aired on November 7, 2025, and that references from that earlier broadcast, including dates and titles, were left unchanged.
The Take is an Al Jazeera show that regularly covers international news and culture through reported conversations. Recent episodes listed by Al Jazeera include programmes on Lebanon and the Israel-Iran conflict, the politics and profits of the FIFA World Cup, an Ebola outbreak, visa services and Canadian politics.
Al Jazeera said Noor Wazwaz updated the episode. The original production team included Melanie Marich, Sonia Bhagat, Marcos Bartolomé and Tamara Khandaker, with Phillip Lanos, Spencer Cline, Amy Walters, Haleema Shah, Sarí el-Khalili, Farhan Rafid and Fatima Shafiq.
The network said Malika Bilal hosted the programme and Kylene Kiang edited it. Alex Roldan handled sound design, while Hisham Abu Salah and Mohannad Al-Melhem edited the video, according to Al Jazeera. Alexandra Locke is listed as executive producer of The Take, and Ney Alvarez as Al Jazeera’s head of audio.
Al Jazeera said listeners can follow its podcast team through AJEPodcasts accounts on X, Instagram, Facebook and YouTube.
