Roborock’s Saros 20 robot vacuum and mop hybrid is selling for $1,359.99 during Prime Day, The Verge reported. The price is $240 below its usual $1,599.99 and marks a new low for the model, according to the publication.
The deal is available through Amazon and Roborock, The Verge said. The discount puts one of the higher-end robot cleaners within reach for buyers who want a device designed to vacuum, mop and maintain itself with limited intervention.
The Verge’s Sheena Vasani highlighted the Saros 20 as one of the publication’s preferred robot vacuum and mop hybrids. In testing cited by Vasani, smart home reviewer Jennifer Pattison Tuohy said the Saros 20 was the first robot vacuum she trusted to clean every room without becoming stuck.
Tuohy credited the model’s obstacle avoidance and slim body for helping it move around household clutter and fit beneath low furniture, according to The Verge. The review also found that the Saros 20 could climb a two-inch transition between a bedroom and bathroom, as well as cross a thick living room rug.
What the Saros 20 does
The Verge said the Saros 20 combines vacuuming, mopping and smart home control. Its Matter support lets owners operate it by voice through major smart home platforms, according to the publication.
For mopping, the Saros 20 uses two rotating mop pads rather than a roller mop, The Verge reported. Tuohy found that setup more effective on tile and grout lines, and said the pads reach farther into edges and corners.
The model also supports warm-water mopping, according to The Verge. Its mop pads can detach and reconnect automatically when needed, a feature the publication said helps prevent carpets from getting wet.
The dock handles several maintenance jobs. The Verge said it empties the dustbin, washes and dries the mop pads, and can run for up to 65 days before the dustbin needs changing.
Vacuum performance
The Saros 20 has 36,000Pa of suction, according to The Verge. Tuohy found it performed strongly on hard floors and picked up debris including dust and pet hair.
The Verge said only its top overall robot vacuum pick, the Matic, did better on hard surfaces in Tuohy’s testing. The Saros 20 also uses Roborock’s DuoDivide brush, which is designed to reduce hair tangles and cut down on maintenance, according to the publication.
The Verge disclosed that Vox Media may receive a commission when readers buy products through its links. The Prime Day discount was listed as active at both Amazon and Roborock at the time of Vasani’s report.
