VKNG Digital has launched in Lancashire as a specialist search marketing agency for small and medium-sized businesses. The firm is pitching SEO and PPC support to regional companies that may not have the budgets or in-house teams associated with national brands.

The agency was founded by Dave Anderson, a Burnley native with nearly 20 years of digital marketing experience. Anderson has held senior marketing roles at Depop, Etsy, Missguided and Simply Be, and has also worked agency-side with MediaCom, CandidSky and Gorilla Marketing.

VKNG Digital will focus solely on search engine optimisation and pay-per-click advertising. That narrower brief sets it apart from general marketing agencies that bundle search with web design, social media, content production and other services.

Search marketing is a practical concern for many smaller firms because it affects how customers find products and services at the point they are actively looking. Paid search can bring faster visibility, while SEO is usually a longer-term effort tied to website quality, content and technical performance.

Anderson said the methods used on large ecommerce campaigns can be adapted for smaller companies without the same level of spending. “What I learned is that the methodologies and strategic thinking behind those campaigns aren't exclusive to companies with eight-figure budgets,” he said.

The agency’s model is based on direct delivery by an experienced practitioner rather than work filtered through account managers or passed to junior staff, according to VKNG Digital. It is also positioning itself as a lower-overhead alternative to larger agencies for firms seeking more specialised search support.

Its target clients include SMEs in ecommerce and retail, professional services, manufacturing and industrial, hospitality and tourism, and property and construction. The business is aimed at firms that want clearer reporting on how marketing budgets are being spent and what results are being produced.

VKNG Digital is based in Lancashire and plans to work with companies across the county, including Burnley, Preston, Chorley, Lancaster, Clitheroe, Ormskirk, Rossendale and the Fylde Coast. The launch adds another specialist provider to the region’s small-business services market, where many firms rely on local advisers for finance, technology and marketing help.

Anderson, who is also a cousin of former England cricketer Sir James Anderson, framed the venture as a way to bring experience gained at national brands back to local businesses. He said Lancashire has independent retailers, long-established manufacturers, tradespeople and hospitality operators that “deserve proper marketing.”

The new Lancashire SEO and PPC agency is entering a crowded digital marketing field, but with a narrower offer than many full-service competitors. Its early test will be whether that specialist approach can appeal to smaller companies that need search expertise but are cautious about agency costs.
