Lisa Ann Walter backs Bic school-supply tour for teachers
The “Abbott Elementary” actor is touring with Bic to help educators stock classrooms and discussed the products she relies on off set.

Lisa Ann Walter is helping Bic bring classroom supplies to teachers through a traveling bus tour, NBC Selected reported. The effort ties the actor’s work on “Abbott Elementary” to her own family connection to educators.
Walter, who has played teacher Melissa Schemmenti on ABC’s “Abbott Elementary” since 2021, told NBC Selected that education runs through her family: her mother spent decades as an educator, and her daughter is also a teacher. Walter said she did not become a classroom teacher herself, but the series lets her play one on television.
The Bic Supply Ride Bus Tour is crossing the country with free mobile shopping events for educators, according to NBC Selected. The bus is set up like a small store stocked with Bic products, and teachers at stops can pick up items for their classrooms before the school year.
NBC Selected interviewed Walter during the tour’s New York City stop. The interview came after the debut of her Hulu comedy special, “It Was An Accident,” and before filming begins on the sixth season of “Abbott Elementary,” according to the outlet.
Walter has also used her time between “Abbott” seasons for stage work. She told NBC Selected that Quinta Brunson urged her to rest, but Walter instead performed in “Heathers: The Musical” on Broadway.
What Walter keeps close
Walter also discussed the items she uses for work, travel and daily routines, NBC Selected reported. Her list mixed beauty products, snacks, notebooks and writing tools.
She credited “Abbott Elementary” makeup artist Jen Bennett with introducing her to Givenchy Prisme Libre Concealer. Walter told NBC Selected that the product became noticeable enough on set that viewers asked Bennett what had changed about Walter’s look.
Walter named Coca-Cola Zero Sugar as a must-have drink, according to NBC Selected. She said she drinks decaf coffee but keeps Coke Zero in her routine.
For makeup, Walter said she carries Pixi Beauty’s LipBlush Lip Stain Pen, NBC Selected reported. She also mentioned a Lisa Rinna lip liner she likes, while noting that the brand had gone out of business and that she was not recommending readers hunt for it.
Walter told NBC Selected she travels with See’s Candies lollipops, especially on flights. She said she prefers them during takeoff and landing to chewing gum, and cited flavors including vanilla, chocolate, cafe latte and butterscotch.
Her skin care routine includes Rationale products, according to NBC Selected. Walter said hairstylist Dustin Osborn introduced her to the Australian brand by giving her a kit for her birthday, and she later found a travel-size version with six products.
Paper and pens remain part of her process
Walter told NBC Selected that she keeps a notebook with her and uses it to write ideas. She showed the outlet a Paperage lined notebook from her purse and said she uses a Bic mechanical pencil with an eraser.
The notebook has a role in her comedy work, Walter said. While performing in “Heathers: The Musical,” she used it to write jokes for an improvised breakup section involving a character named Steve, according to NBC Selected.
Walter singled out Bic’s 4-Color Original Retractable Ballpoint Pen as her favorite item on the supply bus. She told NBC Selected that she remembered the pen from childhood and liked its blue, green, black and red ink options for doodling and schoolwork.
