Amazon is selling a three-month Audible Standard trial for 99 cents through July 30, according to NBC Selected. The promotion gives new customers a low-cost way to try the audiobook service before the subscription renews at its regular monthly price.
NBC Selected reports that the offer is available to new Audible customers and does not require an Amazon Prime membership. The publication lists the regular Audible Standard price at $8.99 a month after the trial period ends.
What the trial includes
Audible Standard includes access to one audiobook each month, unlimited podcasts and member-only deals and sales, according to NBC Selected. The publication says subscribers can also buy audiobooks outright outside the monthly membership benefit.
NBC Selected reports that Audible has more than 1 million titles, including bestsellers, new releases and Spanish-language options through Audible Latino. The promotion applies to all audiobooks included in the deal, according to the publication.
The offer is framed as a temporary discount rather than a permanent price cut. NBC Selected lists the trial at 89% off compared with the $8.99 monthly subscription price.
Titles highlighted in the promotion
NBC Selected pointed readers to several audiobooks available at no additional cost with the trial. The titles span fiction, science fiction, fantasy and nonfiction.
- “Theo of Golden: A Novel”
- “Dungeon Crawler Carl: A LitRPG/Gamelit Adventure”
- “Project Hail Mary”
- “Regime Change: Inside the Imperial Presidency of Donald Trump”
- “Yesteryear: A Novel”
- “Mad Mabel: A Novel”
- “The Calamity Club: A Novel”
NBC Selected associate updates editor Zoe Malin told the publication she used Audible often in college, saying she listened to assigned books while walking around campus or commuting because it helped her multitask.
NBC Selected says it independently determines what it covers and recommends, and that it may earn a commission when readers click or buy through its links. The Audible promotion remains scheduled to run until July 30, according to the publication.
