LKE Locksmith has announced an Oakland County expansion that adds commercial fire-door inspections and broadens its automotive key services as the Holly business marks its 15th year. The changes could give property managers and drivers another local service option, though the details come in a company announcement published Aug. 4.
Locks, Keys & Emergencies LLC, which does business as LKE Locksmith, was founded in 2011 by owner Daniel Heffelbower, according to the release. It operates a storefront in Holly and sends mobile units to communities including Auburn Hills, Clarkston, Fenton, Grand Blanc, Waterford, White Lake and Rochester Hills.
What is LKE Locksmith expanding in Oakland County?
The commercial addition is certified fire-door inspections. Fire doors are assemblies designed to help limit the spread of fire and smoke; their inspection can involve the door, frame and hardware.
The company says service calls for its inspections start at $125. It also says it uses per-door pricing for sites with up to nine doors and offers volume discounts to properties with 10 or more doors. Heffelbower said the company is extending its door-hardware work into fire-door compliance services.
The release describes annual fire-door inspections as required for commercial properties under NFPA 80, but it does not provide independent documentation of how that standard applies to individual Oakland County properties. LKE Locksmith says the service is intended for small businesses, landlords, schools, property managers and multi-unit facilities.
Which vehicle keys can the company service?
The automotive side covers key cutting, programming and fob replacement at the customer’s location, the company says. Its stated coverage includes Ford and Lincoln, GM, and Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep vehicles through model year 2026; Subaru through 2025; BMW through 2021; and Mercedes-Benz through 2015.
Vehicle compatibility can vary by make, model and year, so the announced model-year ranges describe the company’s stated service scope rather than a guarantee for every vehicle. The business also says it works with high-security key systems that use Schlage Primus, Medeco and CX5 keyways.
The Holly storefront at 215 S. Saginaw Street handles walk-in service, key duplication and safe consultations on weekdays. Its Oakland County fire-door inspection and automotive key services are supported by mobile units operating five days a week, according to the announcement.
The company says it has 91 Google reviews, a 4.7-star rating, liability insurance and workers’ compensation coverage, as well as memberships in the Associated Locksmiths of America and Locksmith Security Association.
