FixMold says it completed more than 3,600 mold-remediation projects in 2025 across boats, businesses and homes, a South Florida milestone for a company working in a climate where moisture problems are a constant concern. The Miami-based firm, also known as Fix Mold Miami, is using the total to position itself as a leading regional provider across marine, commercial and residential properties.
The company framed its self-declared No. 1 status around the breadth of the work rather than an outside ranking. Its remediation total followed a year in which its inspection division crossed 7,000 projects, showing how many inspections led to cleanup and clearance work.
Mold remediation in South Florida sits at the intersection of humidity, storm damage, insurance repairs and indoor air quality. For property owners, the job often goes beyond removing visible growth; it can include finding the water source, drying materials, cleaning air systems and documenting that the space is ready to use again.
One process across three markets
FixMold’s stated model uses an IICRC-certified 12-step process, state-licensed technicians, HEPA filtration, organic and VOC-free antimicrobial treatments, and clearance testing after the work is finished. The company also says it supports projects with licensed general contractors and AC technicians in-house, covering containment, removal, drying, HVAC work and rebuilds without relying on separate subcontractor handoffs.
The firm points to patented CO2 hydrogenation, a mobile CO2 deep-freeze cleaning chamber, dry-ice blasting, electrostatic organic disinfecting, hydroxyl generators, ULV foggers and HEPA air scrubbers as part of its toolkit. It also cites a five-star customer-review profile across more than 1,000 reviews on Google, Yelp, BBB, Facebook, Angi and Thumbtack, along with BBB accreditation and an A+ rating.
That mix is central to its pitch for South Florida mold remediation services across different property types. The company says the standard of care remains the same, while the method changes for boats, office buildings, medical facilities, warehouses, condos and single-family homes.
Marine, commercial and residential work
Marine remediation is a key part of the company’s 2025 growth. FixMold says vessel jobs require different methods because hulls, cabins and storage areas include tight, porous and moisture-heavy spaces; its marine work ranges from center-console boats to charter vessels, mega-yachts and passenger vessels from 60 to 200 feet.
On commercial projects, the company structures work around occupied properties such as offices, retail centers, hotels, medical facilities and warehouses. Its services include containment, HEPA negative-air systems, HVAC and air duct cleaning, electrostatic antimicrobial treatment, lab results, moisture maps and clearance certificates used by insurers, property managers and homeowners associations.
For homeowners, FixMold says its crews focus on the moisture source behind the problem, along with containment, black mold removal, removal of damaged materials, structural drying and clearance testing before reconstruction. When leaks or storms cause damage, the company also handles water extraction, drying, drywall, flooring and paint restoration.
“Being #1 in one category is good; being trusted on a mega-yacht, in a hospital, and in a family's living room in the same year is the whole point,” founder Moty Katz said. “Thirty-six hundred remediations across three completely different environments is proof of that range.”
FixMold serves Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach, Monroe and the Florida Keys. The company traces its background to the Katz family’s work in the mold-remediation field since 1989, including Five Boro Mold Specialist, Z. Tak Mold Specialist and Katz & Sons.
